Stubbins to Ewood bridge round robin.

Midday to 1600 hrs overcast calm 15 degrees.

Several very mobile flocks of feeding Tits inluding other species listed below, numbers are totals and estimated.

Blue Tit  40 +

Great Tit 30 +

Coal Tit  25+

Long-tailed Tit 20 +

Goldcrest 3

Nuthatch 4

Treecreeper 1

Chaffinch 5

Also seen away from Tit flocks.

Nuthatch 3

Chaffinch 12

Robin 7

Wren 4, must be more in the thick undergrowth.

Dunnock 6

Bullfinch 3

Blackbird 14 +

Song Thrush 2

Great Spotted Woodpecker 3

Green Woodpecker 1

Goldfinch 80 + all in one charm on high ground behind Alderbottom feeding on beds of thistle.

Goldfinch odd ones around Ewood Bridge and Chatterton.

House Sparrows appear to have bred well good numbers in Chatterton and Irwell Vale

Grey Heron 2

Goosander 4 female

Cormorant 1

Dipper 7

Kingfisher 2

Grey Wagtail 1

Pied Wagtail 3 

Mallard 15 +

Moorhen 3 two on small lodge and one on the river.

House Martin 14 feeding along the river

Swallow 7 feeding around Stubbins and 20 + high over Ewood Bridge.

Buzzard 2 over Chatterton.

Pheasant 3 female

Collard Dove only one pair in Irwell Vale.

Wood Pigeon usual high numbers all round the route.

Jay 2

Jackdaw 50 + 

Rook 20 +

Carrion Crow only 3 flying high over Alderbottom

No Greenfinch or Warblers.
