Nice try Ina but Brighton are called Seagulls and that is not the name of a bird, however I will allow it as it is a fun quiz. However being a pedant I will not allow this pairing as Torquay are called the Gulls.yawn

Right then....you said no Googling and I haven't, but I did 'phone a friend'. He told me before I could stop him there are 2 magpies. since I cheated I'll leave others to guess. I only knew of the obvious 'Toon' anyway.

You are correct with Magpies, thats Notts and Newcastle.
You are warm with Robins but Altrincham are not a league side, they are non league.
Pedants rule.

Bristol City???
My 'phone a friend' friend also told me that Leeds United used to be called The Peacocks....Now there's a piece of usless info I hadn't known!!...Suits an awful lot of modern players though.

You have got two of the three Robins, you are improving.
Peacocks is an antiquated name for Leeds as is Throstles for West Brom so they don't count.
