Going around the village c.2200 hours bathed by light of near-full moon offering semi-decent visibility. Lots of night-flying moths but without moth-trap impossible to identify.

At least 2(maybe 3)species of bats, the smaller ones Pipestrelle and larger bats with larger ears(and greater weight with more colour on breast)such as I could see in the darkness)probably Daubenton`s.  This seems likely near the water. Have to go with the more common species, as a rule of thumb.

Highlight one tawny owl perched on top of telegraph pole surveying all around. Immediately flew off on sight but I got a pic!!

As expected, 3 Canada geese overhead fairly vocal and active, navigating by the moonlight flying towards Holden Wood reservoir. Noticeably they do NOT fly at a great height, a bit like whooper swans in the U.K. in wintertime which fly very low when near the water they are coming in to land. Fowlers moon you might say..?
