Cormorant, 3 flew in from the west down the valley,
Grey Heron, 2,
Canada Goose, 8,
Mallard, 90 on Calf Hey,
Teal, 4 on Calf Hey,
Sparrowhawk, female over Calf Hey,
Kestrel, 2 singles,
Peregrine, male over,
Merlin, female landed on a dry stone wall close to where I was climbing up onto Haslingden Moor. It then flew around me south towards Hog Lowe Pike.
Lapwing, flock of 15 at Holden Wood Res,
Snipe, 1 flew in and landed on Haslingden Moor,
Golden Plover, flock of 4 above Haslingden Moor,
B.H.Gull, c12 on Holden Wood,
Wood Pigeon, c30 in small flocks,
Green Woodpecker, 1 yaffling in quarry,
G.S.Woodpecker, 2 calling,
Skylark, 1 on Haslingden Moor,
Meadow Pipit, steady flow south in small flocks,
Pied Wagtail, c40 including 20 at Ogden dam,
Black Redstart, juv / female at Hutch Bank,
Stonechat, 2 at Calf Hey,
Mistle Thrush, flock of 20 by Duke of Wellington,
Chiffchaff, 1 singing at Calf Hey,
L.T.Tit, flock of 9,
Coal Tit, c8,
Teecreeper, 1 with tits,
Jay, flock of 5 plus single,
Raven, pair at Calf Hey plus single,
Carrion Crow, 1 with white wings made me look twice!
Starling, c50 in two flocks,
Goldfinch, c40 inc charm of 24,
Linnet, flock of 3 males,
Bullfinch, calling from cover!
