I started feeding over a week ago at three sites for the autumn/winter and early sightings include,
great tit[commonist bird]
blue tit[second commonist]
long tailed tit[small flocks]
nuthatch[4 individuals regular]
robin[odd ones]
dunnock[2/3]
g s woodpecker[present at all three sites]
wood pigeon[two many]
collard dove[2]
magpie[seem to be regular now]
jay[2 at the woodland site]
blackbird[common visitor]
blackcap female[turned up sun morning,fed for about an hour]
jackdaw[2 in garden site]
distinct lack of finches,only one goldfinch on niger so far.

Twice over the weekend a buzzard hunted over porritt lodge

Hi Brian,
I pinched your Sparrowhawk earlier this year...... I've got all the Goldfinches!!!   Up to 25 feeding on sunflower hearts (they seem to like them).  4/5 Greenfinch regularly and the odd Bullfinch on occasions.

Hi Ina,

I will swap you a wood pigeon and a nuthatch for a goldfinch and a greenfinch, i think the bullfinches will turn up in numbers as the weather cools.wink.gif
