Hi All, Has anyone been to Tunisia in winter? I'm going in January, so any info, websites, personal experiences will be greatly appreciated. Not staying in one place and have still to sort itinerary. I called round to see Eric today. He was quite touched by the birthday card from the club and he asked me to pass on his thanks to everyone for their good wishes. He and Margaret don't get out much now and would welcome a visit if you happen to be passing.

Hi I just wanted to ask a question about blue tits that had been using the nest box in my garden, I have seen them going in and out since March and recently when I put out cat fur they were busy going in and out with beak-fulls. I have seen no activity from the nest box since Saturday, I am not watching 24/7 b...

I would like to ask a question, the reply might be very obvious, but I was looking on the wild rossendale site and it was mentioned about putting out nesting materal and one type said cat hair, is this the hair/fur from a domestic cat or something else? Also what type of container do you need to put nesti...

Just found your Forum and wondered if anyone could knows why this happens. There are several bullfinches in our garden and we have spotted one trying to attack the window in our shed. Never seen any other birds do this - have also noted they also do this on our front window! Trissn

Hi all, I'm going through the records submitted for Rook last year and we only have 20 records. If anyone passes a rookery during the next month or so before the leaves appear can they make a note of the number of occupied nests so we can have a better summary for 2009? I've passed a few sites today and some n...

I note that my query about the location of the Short-eared Owl (On the boundary - 21/07/08) has provoked a discussion (continued in the Green Sandpiper posting - 29/07/08), as to whether particular birds were in Burnley or Rossendale.
