at least 40 lapwings in the field on the right handside of grane road as you drive to blackbrn about 2pm, wednesday 23rd sept qute a few starling flocks over h'den nowadays. also looks like housemartins still breeding - keep flying into the eaves of houses still.

Buzzard being attacked by a female sparrowhawk above buckden woods this evening about 1700 hours, it flew off towards irwell vale. I know have three feeding stations set up for the winter, they are just begining to get busy, especially with jays, there seems to be a lot about.
